The approach in 3 phases – theorical presentation, faculty demonstration, and practical work – is similar to basic course. The participants work with fresh cadaver specimens, all tested and with all safety guarantees. The chronology below gives a historical perspective as well as a glimpse into the future of the EFA Annual Meeting locations, hosts and chairs over the years (including links to conference websites, if available). We have come a long way from where we started and today, EFAS represents 28 national societies and around surgeons in Europe.

  • It is a structured framework that allows companies to identify and prioritize key external factors that may impact their business.
  • By reinvestment the training of young surgeons interested in pursuing a career in trauma and orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery shall be facilitated.
  • The Scientific Committee is looking for experienced orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeons committed to teaching and education to join the 8-member-Scientific-Committee team.
  • Over 1.5 billion people worldwide live with some degree of hearing loss, and this number is expected to rise significantly in the coming decades.
  • However, one limitation of the EFAS Matrix is its exclusive focus on external factors.

There is an emphasis on clinical examination of cases, small group discussions and learning surgical approaches in the cadaver lab. The framework can EFAS Forum be customized to fit the specific needs and objectives of an organization, making it a versatile tool for strategic planning. Through EFAS, we are dedicated to bridge this gap by advancing accessible, affordable and sustainable hearing care services for all. The European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS) underscores that surgical procedures on the foot and ankle should only be performed by medically trained surgeons who are fully accountable for their treatment decisions and outcomes. The unit for soil depth in this case (i.e. using LISFLOOD model for EFAS) should be millimetres (mm).

  • Our courses are a good and balanced combination of theory and practical sessions, designed to develop a student’s ability and personal confidence.
  • We do not recommend to use EFAS for catchments below 50 km2, most of our products/layers use 150 km2 as a threshold (i.e. we do not evaluate the model skill/performance in catchments smaller than 150 km2).
  • Revenue is the total amount of money a company earns from its business operations, including sales of goods or services.
  • It will ensure that if one task is completed, then the next step will be automatically done.
  • This dataset provides a gridded modelled time series of river discharge, forced with seasonal range meteorological forecasts from GloFAS.
  • One of the key advantages of SWOT Analysis is its holistic approach to strategic planning.

Discussions centred on electrode design, surgical techniques, and patient-reported outcomes, reflecting a growing emphasis on personalised medicine in implantable hearing technologies. The DEFINE study, presented in the opening session, provided compelling evidence that digital cognitive behavioural therapy can be as effective as traditional face-to-face approaches in managing tinnitus-related distress. Other sessions explored auditory training methods, broadband hearing aid amplification, and innovative tools like the Tinnometer to tailor tinnitus therapies to individual needs.Overall, EFAS 2025 was a remarkable professional and cultural experience. The event once again reinforced the importance of evidence-based practice, technological integration, and patient-centred care in shaping the future of hearing healthcare. The combination of cutting-edge audiological science, meaningful professional connections, and the magnificent setting of Vienna made this congress truly memorable.

  • One of the key advantages of the EFAS Matrix is its focus on external factors, which can provide valuable insights into the broader business environment.

  • The purpose of this curriculum is to provide a basis for the certification of young trainee trauma and orthopaedic surgeons specialising in foot and ankle management and surgery.
  • For EFAS v3.5 and earlier, all variables were only available for 24-hourly time steps.
  • To address this limitation, organizations may need to complement the EFAS Matrix with other tools that focus on internal factors, such as the SWOT Analysis.

EFAS Horizontal Resolution and Projection

The European Flood Awareness Systems (EFAS) is the first operational pan-European flood forecasting and monitoring system. EFAS provides a wide range of early flood forecasting information to support national and regional authorities with flood risk management duties in arranging preparatory measures before an event strikes. In addition, EFAS provides a unique overview across Europe and neighbouring countries on currently observed and forecasted flood events.

Medical Education Events

A portfolio of Europe’s training sites selected with the best internationally validated educational criteria. Inventory management is a key business function for companies making to stock. The EFACS E/8 Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) modules work together to provide accurate planning and control of materials and products. The comprehensive EFACS E/8 planning module will schedule production, including material management.

EFACS E/8 provides clear reports, offering important information, presented to the employees who need it. Users will have different access levels, ensuring that staff at various levels can see the information that is relevant to them. EFACS E/8 reduces the time spent on small tasks, such as sending confirmation of orders, by linking up processes and automating them. It will ensure that if one task is completed, then the next step will be automatically done. More automation means more time for your employees to do other, more important tasks.

These courses are aimed at Higher Surgical Trainees / ST3 onwards and are designed to teach the core of Foot and Ankle surgery in an informal and interactive environment. The emphasis is on clinical examination cases, discussion groups and typical day-to-day clinic scenarios. Although not an exam preparation course, content is taught to the standard expected in the FRCS(Tr & Orth) exam; that of a day-one non-specialist orthopaedic consultant. At EFAS, we  strive to provide a platform to foster exchanges between industry and practictioners in order to always enhance the quality of foot and ankle surgery. One of the key advantages of SWOT Analysis is its holistic approach to strategic planning. By considering both internal and external factors, organizations can gain a more comprehensive understanding of their current situation and future prospects.

The Debt-to-Equity (D/E) ratio measures a company’s financial leverage by comparing its total debt to shareholder equity.

The EFAS Matrix primarily focuses on external factors such as opportunities and threats, while the SWOT Analysis considers both internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external factors. Additionally, the EFAS Matrix assigns weights to each external factor based on their importance, while the SWOT Analysis does not. Overall, both tools are valuable in helping organizations identify key strategic issues and develop effective strategies to address them.

Strengthening Europe’s response to natural disasters

Any national, regional or local authority that is legally responsible for providing flood forecasting services, or that has a national role in flood risk management within its country and the European Commission Services, can become an EFAS partner. The soil layers information is in the variable soil depth, which gives the depth of the bottom of each layer from the surface. The official documentation (Model Output – Copernicus Emergency Management Service – CEMS – ECMWF Confluence Wiki) gives the units as meters. After selecting to access the EFAS map viewer, the user will be able to access various data and information from the service using the EFAS-IS (Figure 2).

Certification’s application

This can help companies develop strategies that are aligned with their capabilities and the external environment, leading to more effective decision-making. Another benefit of the EFAS Matrix is its systematic approach to evaluating external factors. By assigning weights and ratings to each factor, organizations can prioritize their focus on the most critical issues facing their business.

Managing your company’s interactions

Once your registration documents are submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. Your application will then reviewed by the EFAS Council during the face-to-face meeting (usually taking place 3 times a year around January, June and at the time of the Annual Meeting). Gain access to online educational content exclusively available for EFAS members.

It is accepted that this condition may not be treated by Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeons throughout Europe. Some water from rainfall, melting snow, or deep in the soil, stays stored in the soil. Otherwise, the water drains away, either over the surface (surface runoff), or under the ground (sub-surface runoff) and the sum of these two is simply called ‘runoff’. This parameter is the total amount of water accumulated over a particular time period which depends on the data extracted. The units of runoff are depth in metres.
